THE MAN WHO THINKS HE CAN ! on “TRIUMPHANT THURSDAY”

THE MAN WHO THINKS HE CAN! : TRIUMPHANT THURSDAY : PATH TO LIFE SUCCESS

Stephen Covey, author of ‘The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People’, explains that between stimulus and response we have a choice of how we are going to reactWe are ’response able’, or put together we are responsible. That is where great attitudes come from: knowing we have a choice in the matter and making the mature choice to maintain a positive mental attitude!

The Man Who Thinks He Can!

If you think you are beaten, you are;
If you think you dare not, you don’t!
If you’d like to win, but think you can’t,
It’s almost a cinch that you won’t.

If you think you’ll lose, you’re lost.
For out in the world we find
Success begins with a fellow’s will;
It’s all in the state of mind!

If you think you’re outclassed, you are;
You’ve got to think high to rise.
You’ve got to be sure of yourself
before you can win the prize.

Life’s battles don’t always go
To the strongest or fastest man;
But sooner or later the man who wins
Is the man who thinks he can!

Walter D. Wintle

ATTITUDE is how we mentally look at the world and people around us. Our attitudes determine our behavior or reactions which tell the entire world what is inside our minds. Attitudes determine our destiny, our quality of life and our success! The quality of attitudes affect the quality of our life. A POSITIVE ATTITUDE COMPLETES THE PERFECT ‘YOU’!

  1. Hughie, my mind kept transposing “attitude” for “altitude” and I believe maybe it wasn’t a mind trick. Our attitude does determine our altitude! I know I want to fly higher, and I know it means capitalizing on adversity, using the wind in my face (adversity) to soar higher. If I don’t control my thoughts, I end up enduring cycles of defeat… such a good reminder to me – thanks!

      Hi Susan…Thank you for sharing the ‘attitude’ for ‘altitude’ analogy….attitude will certainly be a major factor in the determination of your altitude….Hughie :)

    Hughie, the attitude is indeed the key to all success, so thanks for pointing that out. In fact, one of the greatest services of a blog is to help its readers keep their attitude positive and their sight high. I appreciate you doing that!

  3. I totally agree ~ the attitude is the key to all success! Thanks for sharing this :)

    Hughie,
    Great post and love the poem. I will be sharing that with my sons. One of the things I was a nut about with my sons was to convince them that they get to make the decisions for their lives. When a coach dropped them from a team I always asked them…”Is that fellow going to decide if you are a player or are you?”
    I actually think I got through to them, so I am certain your poem will be welcome!
    Thanks for the great post.
